71 Cuda Passenger Door Adjustment?
« on: August 30, 2009 - 10:20:18 PM »
Hi Gang,

I am just about ready for my grand rollout after 5 long years.  The only issue left to address is a saggy passenger door.  It is a little low at the strikeplate and a little kicked out at the bottom also.  I tried loosening the bottom hinge bolts and pulling up and retightening them but it seems to want to go back to that out of adjustment spot. Before I loosen up the top bolts and mess everything up is there any trick to this?  The hinges had new springs and pins installed during the refurb and the passenger door is perfect. Thanks again in advance!

I made up a cradle of sorts for my floor jack to support/lift the door while I adjusted it. Made it out of wood and foam rubber. It helped hold the door in the right position while the bolts were tightened. Getting it aligned 'just right' is a time consuming job.
