    The better ,stronger converters have an "anti ballooning plate" on them. You won't get that with a $300 converter,but not everyone needs a converter with a plate on it. The more torque the engine has (big cubes,stroked,nitrous etc.) the more likely you need a plate on the converter.

    Received this reply to these questioins....(p/n 54082 is their 22-2800 stall model)
      For a basically stock '73 Dodge 340/727 with 3:23 rear gear what torque converter do you recommend?
      What is your converter warranty for a street driven car?

    we recommend p/n 54082, your converter should carry weights but you would need to double check the converter you have in it now. we carry a 2 year warranty against manufacturing defects. We also offer a restall feature on our converters, so that if you change your set up or just want to refresh the converter you can do this by contacting us and we'll be glad to do that for you and the pricing on that starts at only 49.95 plus freight

    How do you like it?  I have to make a decision on my 340 as I can't keep the engine running when I put it in gear.

    You don't need much vert with a stroker motor. It has gobs of low end TQ. Too much vert and you'll have a tire fryer. :2cents: And the 3:23's will work fine.  :grinyes:
