Torque Converter Advice Needed
« on: September 03, 2009 - 01:39:57 PM »
I'm putting everything together for the motor swap and am looking for some help and advice in selecting a torque converter. It will be a 6.1 Hemi crate motor bolted to the stock 904 trans and 3.55 SG rear.  It will be a street only car, but am looking for good street performance.

Thanks,
Mike

I too am seeking advice in another post, it kind of sucks and it's kind of fun being at the low end of the learning curve. It sucks not knowing, but learning about this stuff is a blast!!!

I spoke to people at PTC and TCI, both companies were very helpful. I make it a point to tell them that I know very little.

They need to know things like, Cam Specs, Tire size, car weight, motor size, ect......

Let us know what you end up with, GOOD LUCK!!

I have tried to find the cam specs for the 6.1 P&P crate motor (Part# P5155067) but have been unsuccessful.

This is what the better converter company's ask for when they tell you what converter you need. http://www.accperformance.com/Order/index.html  They spelled Trans Brake wrong though!  :screwy:
