It could very well be that one or more of the nuts inside the frame broke away.  The easy fix at the time was to weld the brakets to the car.  The only other alternative is to use a hole saw and drill a hole into the frame.  That way you can possition a new nut and weld it in place from the inside.

how are you going to get the old nut off ?
looks to me like they need a little more than just a few hits to fall out.
Per, you need to take measurements first and then decide which way to go... it better be strong, your rotisserie bolts there...

Now when the the car is totally stripped the only thing I can see on the frame is what's on this pic.
Could that be from a fronthit or is it something else?

could be.  the framerails on my cuda were beat up too in that area, but that looked like damage from below
( like from a floorjack or something ) and that sharpened the edges of the rail.  Yours look a bit bulged out...  :clueless:   did you take diagonal measurements yet?

Yes Bart, diagonal measurements I have done and that looks OK but I plan on taking it to a shop for
lasermeasuring. I also don't find any trace on the firewall/cowl which I think should show something if
the collision was hard enough to bend the frame. :clueless:
