Octane Booster

Just for fun I bought a bottle of Lucas Octane Booster for my Challenger yesterday . The bottle said to use with a full tank of gas and that the stuff was not street legal . Car does seem more powerful but now I'm wondering if it is ok to run this in my 440 ?

why not , , ti just makes the fuel harder to burn which will allow for more advanced timing & could allow the engine to make more power

The "not street legal" is the only stuff to buy and use, ha ha.

All that means it was made like the old stuff in the 1970's and 80's!

There's a few companies making their own brew. This one is near me. And I think there's anoher in GA. OS told me about a while ago. Look for the one's with the least residue build up.

Well if you are running FI I would agree. Carbs are harder to clog up and easily clean if happens. Your exhaust will be fine unless you are running cats, those can plug up.

Lead deposits can foul spark plugs but it also lubricates the rings and cools the valves.

They make and sell the higher octane no lead gasoline for newer cars really..unless leaded gasoline is total banned in your area..might be.

What I'm trying to say is that there are some of the off the shelf Octane boosters out there that are known to leave residual that build up on the valves. This has nothing to do with lead.
Then there is companies like ERC. You buy the 110 and reduce it with 92 to get 98 octane. It's a cleaner product but yes it costs more but should last you longer cutting it. This is the way to go.
