front bumper bracket?
« on: September 07, 2009 - 08:10:23 PM »
I am wondering if there is a difference in length for the front bumper brackets between 70-74?  I have a set of 73 and a set of 72 but they are both the same length.  Some 70 cudas have the bumper up tight to the front grille but others seem to be further out.  I realize they are slotted and therefore should slide in tighter or further from the grille.  My 73 cuda has the brackets pushed in as far as the slots would allow but the bumper still sits too far away for my tastes.  I realize the rears are different between years and am wondering if I need different front brackets to get the bumper to sit tight to the grill.  Thanks for any help

im thinking '72 and up are differant from the earlier ones.
if you search on here, there is a thread for drilling the laters out to stuff em in on the front.
i remade my back ones, its pretty easy to do, if your handy with a welder.

70-72 is 2 bolt at the frame and 73-74 is 3 bolt. also the 73-4 has a wider bolt pattern front and rear

I am going to try to get my hands on a set of 70 brackets.  Then I will figure what I have to do from there.  Crazy, I have a 72 set and they are the same as my 73 set- Thanks
