sept 11
« on: September 10, 2009 - 03:42:37 PM »
I got this e-mail and thought it worth sharing.

Marines:

General Brewster and Barry Jordan forwards  the following (it's a good idea; follow through with it):

If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those people do the same ... you get the idea.

THE PROGRAM:

On Friday, September 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friend's and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

Action Plan:

So, here's what we need you to do.

(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless America!

I try to keep my flag flying in front of my house most of the time.  I will try and get the folks where I work to put up a flag.

:wavingflag: I've had an American flag flying in front of my house every single day rain or shine since 9/11. Some extremists say I should take it down during inclement weather but the way I see it is our soldiers dont stop fighting for us when we have bad weather. It will stay up until all of our soldiers are back from the middle east! :wavingflag:
If I cant fix it, it's broke

:iagree: Same here friend, and before replacing a flag I intentionally allow it to get rather tattered, I represent that with the physical and mental ware our men and women endure daily. Thanks for the sacrifice our military give to us and the free world.  :wavingflag:  And also to all our allied forces.  :2thumbs:

I will never forget where I was when it happened. I was on 3 o'clocks and I saw it all unravel from before the second plane hit the towers.

I will never forget what they did to our people

I will forever tip my hat to all armed forces personnel past and present for the sacrifices they made/make for the rest of us.

May God Bless our Country!

:dunno: I'm dissapointed..............where was Obama this past 9-11? He was not at the ceremony at ground zero. I realized he can't be everywhere, but being this is his first year as our president I personally feel he should have been there.   :wavingflag:

I am not an Obamapoligist, but I believe he was at a ceremony at the Pentagon.  That doesn't mean that he did not have the means to attend both.
