I be more interested if stock cars were more "STOCK" I'm tired of looking at the decal on the nose to see what "brand" it is! Toyota just took all the best designs from Mopar, Chevrolet, and Ford and built a race only engine?????  For years the engines were stock "dimentionally" now none of them are! Not a "stock " part on the whole darn car! That's not stock car racing in my books! If I wanted to watch "spec " car racing for the wine and cheese crowd I would watch F-1 ! They have almost ruined Nascar in my books! That comming from a Nascar official! ( Me!)

Funny, Hot Rod has a big article in the November issue abou the new Ford and Dodge engines and how they are both clean sheets of paper in regard to design. Of course it is not unlike a big manufacturer to spend tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on a program only to walk away before it is delivered.
HOT ROD is about 5 years late this is old news wraped in new sales ads . I will address the mopar engine it was developed in sprint cars several years ago and won the only outlaw championship in its history with Mark Kinser driving . this engine was run in trucks shortly after then moved to nascar . Fords roush engine is on its way over to sprint cars for a shot at Kahnes mopar teams . We will see more of this in sprints & late models as time goes on , when the big three dumps nhra and nascar the shops just change directions and short tracks are strong lately look at all the track owners today Stewart Blaney Martin Everyham to name a few ,its no suprise that what goes up must come down. I see thousands of engines sold in short track thats more than nascar can use up . :2cents:
