I don't think there is a cheap way. But I'd be sure to band it solid to a pallet and I'd even use plywood to box it in. You know whatever freight system you use will be handling it with a forklift.

I sold my OEM Hemi crankshaft earlier this year on E bay.

Found a wood framed crate at a construction site. Worked the frame and used Giant long zip ties for the crank in and sent it UPS. Weighed 90 lbs. Shipped was 90 bucks to TN from CA.

If you can crate it, you should be able to send it UPS.

According to their website it's a 100 lb limit.

I haven't found a way yet that isn't in the $250 to $300 range. (that includes UPS) If there is a cheap/reliable way out there,I would love to know!

We use http://www.uship.com at work and get quotes/bids for the shipment. It usually nets a fair price. It lets the shippers bid for the job.

I can ship motors from coast to coast for about $150. We use unishippers, freightquote, usship, etc. Terry, you should be able to get a pretty good discount setup if you ship at least a couple trannys a week. The minimum doesn't get much lower than that, but it sure beats paying retail.

I know this is an old thread, but I did use UShip and it was a great experience and was about $130 door to door.  I wouldn't hesitate using them again.

I shipped my TKO 600 in the original box from Maryland to Minnesota via UPS for $125.00.  That was 4 years ago and it made it perfect.  Good Luck.
