    I got another 727 built for her,it should be at Monster Mopar Weekend In St. Louis this weekend. If any one is there,keep their eye out for it!  :2thumbs:

    That article from John Cope was really interesting. So if you stock valve body with low/reverse band apply, is it ok to start a burnout in low?

    Not that my car is even able to do a burnout right now....but......if one has a Transgo shift kit installed does that address the issue in any way?  :dunno:  I am supposed to be able to shift down int 1st at any speed with the kit I have.....assuming the shop installed it that way....

    You are OK with the Transgo kit. The low band/element apply applies to ALL automatic transmissions.In a Chevy 350 Turbo and a Ford C-6 ,it is a clutch pack. In a Chevy 400 Turbo,it is a band also. Every domestic automatic 3 speed is stronger (two elements applied instead of just one) in manual low than drive low.

    Is there a way to change those cheetah valve bodies to use low/reverse band apply. Or do you have to buy new VB?

    The only Cheetah Manual VB that I see that has low band apply is stock shift pattern. Your's is reverse so I say no. You would have to call them to find out for sure though.

    So just to be clear...if you have a stock pattern valvebody and you do a burnout.  You should have the shifter in "1" and shift through the gears instead of leaving it in "D" correct.

    Correct. Any time you want to "peel the tires" you should have it manual low starting out.

    Great info Terry, I don't race anymore but if I did I would rebuild with a TCS drum. How much does the steel one run? All my stuff is 4-speed now anyway.

    I'll be looking for her runs at Gateway.
