Line up from the crank and power steering pulley
« on: September 21, 2009 - 05:04:53 PM »
I have a problem with the line up from the crank pulley and the steering pump pulley.
The steering pump is about 1 cm (1/2") to far in front.
How can I adjust this mistake?
Can I put some washers under the crank pulley?
Thanks for a feedback
Greetings from Switzerland
Andrea

Do you have a pic?  What type of pump and block?

1/2" is too much, something isn't right there.  How about the crank pulley, is it stock?

you cannot put washers behind the crank pulley without causing problems , you either need a different crank & or PS pulley or try pressing the PS pulley on backwards

I`d visit a local turn / mill shop with that problem.  just ask them how much for making one that fits...  and try some different shops too, that might make a big difference in price...  :2cents:

Looks like the crank pulley is wrong?  The PS pulley looks ok to me.

Tom

Where did you get the aluminum pulley?

@ Tom
I get the parts from our US trip last year.
I bought the pulley from Jerrys Auto Supply, WA.
If I lock your and my pictures, both pulley's are on axis.
Mine have a space from about 2-3 mm in back but not 10 mm. :clueless:
This 2-3 mm space is to less.
I think I have to produce a new one with the ~10 mm off axis to the rear side.... :pullinghair:

Try to get some measurements of the crank pulley, I have a couple lying around in my pile I can see if I have a proper crank pulley for you.  I can check your measurements vs mine.

Good morning Tom
I was yesterday on a "turning lathe" shop.
They make me a new pulley.
The offset is incredibly, 10,8 mm.

If that doesn't work, I will let you now.
Thank you for your support
