"New" Daily
« on: September 22, 2009 - 10:33:46 PM »
A good friend of mine called me because his wife's Neon had lost a water pump. He wanted to know if I thought he should sell it as-is or repair the car and sell it. Before the conversation was over I owned the car as-is for $700. Fixed it over the weekend and washed it to snap a few pics. Still gotta detail the car real good. It's got 157k on the clock, but it's been well kept. I've gotta respray the hood and left quarter panel. Turns out it's a pretty rare car due to the color. One of 527 Sport Coupes made in Nitro-yellow-green, a color only offered in '95.

:2thumbs: I had one a couple years ago that color but also had custom painted red, blue, and grey (bold) stripes. I posted a pic of it here  :roflsmiley: everyone made fun of me being an old fart and driving a car jazzed up like that. I still see it most every day, a next door girl (18) had her Ferd die on her, no money to fix it. They are a nice family and only one income so I just signed over the title to her. I think her mom likes driving it too.  :smilielol:  Good score, I had to pay about twice that for mine, but it was in great shape body wise and mechanically. I never planned to get rid of it, but I'm an ole "softie", that made three cars we gave away within a four year period.  :2thumbs:

Looks like you had a win, for a little effort the previous owner could have still had a reliable car or would have been able to sell a going car for more.   :cooldancing:

It would have been even better if it was an ACR. It's got way too much equipment to be an ACR. I've known about this car since the previous owner bought in at the 03 Nats.

It's not an ACR?

An ACR would not have fog lights-just the holes.  There would also be no trim strip in the depression on the door, and the door handles would be gray not body colored.  That is stilll a rare little car, but a 95 ACR would be even cooler.
