Changing a speedo gear
« on: September 23, 2009 - 07:40:24 AM »
I have to change the speedo gear in my A833 to get the speedo to read more accurately.
If I jack the rear of the car up, how much gear oil will come out when I pull the speedo gear adaptor out of the tailshaft? I am assuming very little. Is that  a correct statement?

Yes, you will not lose much.  I just did mine with it on the ground, and I lost maybe an 1/8th of a cup.  Just put a cool whip container under it and you will be fine.
