    Posting this for a friend...

    He has a '34 Plymouth Street Rod that is getting a swapped 5.7 with the computer-controlled 5 speed auto, air, etc.  No modifications will be done to the motor.  The car will only be driven in fair weather, so minimal light and wiper usage.  No cold weather driving.

    What is the smallest battery he should consider?  He's running the battery in it's own compartment inside the rear passenger fender.  He'd like to use a motorcycle battery if possible and go no bigger than a 650 as a worst case scenario.

    Thoughts?

    I don't see why this wouldn't work. In theory, the battery just needs to start the car. Once started, the alternator should power the accessories. The stress test for batteries is starting in cold weather, and believe it or not, extremely hot weather.

    Depending on the room for motorcycle batteries, they can always be wired in parallel for double cranking power and still 12v..
