Small block mount interchange

Yesterday I heard that the metal 318 engine mount brackets are different then those for a 340. Is that true?

I used a grade 8 nut of the proper size and it took up the distance difference perfectly.

Which side of the block mounting tabs do the 340 brackets attach? I found an extra set of 318 mounts and I think I can modify it to work just fine by machining a spacer, thanks for the idea.
