What the heck was some MORRON thinking???
« on: October 04, 2009 - 09:35:47 PM »
Grrrrr don't you just hate butchers! I pulled up my carpet tonight . One, so I could get ready for welding in the console brackets and shifter brackets in and two so I could replace the "speaker" type carpet with the correct stuff. First why do people glue carpet down??? :stomp: What a mess!
Anyway when I got the carpet up and removed the B&M Shifter ( :puke:) some MORRON has drilled, chiseled and cut about a 6"x6" chunk out of the tranny tunnel?? What the heck for??? :pullinghair: I assume they realized their error and "folded" back over the twisted up metal and screwed a chunk of fender or something back over it? Looks like the part where the antenna goes in off some car?( nice yellow paint even? ) I can fix it . I'll cut the opening a little bigger to get  straight surfaces the fit in and weld a new piece. Not a big deal or expensive I guess just annoying. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to work on Mopars!! :grinno:
Thanks for letting me "vent" :blah:

Thanks Alan, It should be an easy fix with just a piece of sheet metal and the mig welder.
Thanks though! :2thumbs:

In a '73 duster I once found an album cover taped down over a hole in the trunk and sprayed with undercoating tar so it looked like sheet metal....hack jobs are everywhere!
Hope the glue wasn't too hard to remove.

I just found that my consolebrackets were homemade, fastened with screws and glue plus all the holes made in the tunnel. Will post a pic in my projectthread. :banghead:
