trunk torsion bar sliders pop off.

The square plastic sliders that rub on the trunk hinges have a nasty habit of either flying off or popping off the hinges. Any body got any history with this ?

Mine did it too, after I had my trunk hinges painted.  The torsion rod actually scratched the trunk hinges.  Push nuts was my solution as well.
