    small or large bolt pattern for flex plate?

    I am getting ready to order a TCI flexplate from Summit and need to find out if I have a "small" or "large" bolt pattern crank....

    Guess i would have to actually measure it?

    the crank is the same bolt pattern , you need the flex plate to match the bolt pattern on the converter though

    Well, thats what I thought too..

    But on the TCI site, they have this info:

    part#145600  All T/F  318-440  internal  small bolt circle, 5/16" bolt, 6 hole forged crank 
     
    part#145700 All T/F  318-440  internal  large bolt circle, 5/16" bolt, 6 hole forged crank 

    I was assuming the "bolt circle" meant the crank.   Does it mean the bolt circle on the converter?   If thats the case, the breakaway is an 11", so I would need the  "large" one?

    Not sure which I would need.  Going to get a TCI Breakaway.

    Also, I had bought new 5/16" bolts....the ones that need the 6-sided socket.....for the first install and re-used my crank bolts.

    Do I have to buy all new bolts? Or can I re-use what i have safely if i locktite?

    ....also reuse the bolts and Loctite.

    Ok,,,,one more for Terry....

    So the Breakaway is a 10" bolt pattern?  Is that what a stock converter is?

    The Summit site says "3/8" bolt" in the description for the small bolt pattern one...

    What are they referring to??

    The Breakaway has 5/16 bolts (like stock) The 3/8 holes will work,but they will be a little bigger than normal.


    This one will work,and it's cheaper.

    Yeah, that is definately cheaper....half the price.....it looks exactly like the one I have...LOL

    Nothing to be gained by gettng the TCI  then?
