An open question to the board...

Has anyone heard of the song "manic mechanic" by ZZ Top? It was on an album called "Deguello", that came out in 1979. At the beginning of the song is the oh so familiar sound of the Mopar starter turning over.  :ylsuper: I have the album  :grinyes:, I also have the MP3 download if anyone is interested.

It is so hard to pick one, but have to agree with the Deep Purple Made in Japan choices from earlier. My cd changer is loaded with 10 all the time and I have about 500 to choose from. Everything is from the late to mid 60s to through about the mid 70s. Except for some that have continued past that era, such as Aerosmith, Rush and some Stones. Right now I have Led Zepplin, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Deep Purple, Rush, America, Humble Pie, Heart, Bloodrock, Cream and Black Oak Arkansas in there. When they are done 10 more will go in.

For the earlier post for Blue Oyster Cult "Astonomy", what about "Don't Fear the Reaper", "Challzilla", and of course "The last days of may". Then we had someone mention "Itchygoo Park" by the Small Faces - How old are we here ??? Humble Pie "Thirty Days in the Hole", Deep Purple "Smoke on the Water", Rolling Stones "Jumpin Jack Challenger".

Alan Parson's Project, I know that the album was I Robot, but other than the title song I can't remember one song off that album. Any help here ??? The Gary Wright "Dream Weaver" is a great just cruizin album.

hmmm   my taste in music varies-a lot.my current driver dont even have a radio and im not a fan of any band in particular (except roger waters,WHO IS GOD ,and ive got tickets to go to his concert next week) so my favourite driving song would have to be sunset strip from the radio chaos album.i used to cruise the west coast hiway in perth years ago in my dodge phoenix with this playing non stop.
my challenger on the other hand loves led zepplin.for some reason whenever i drive it or do any work on it i get the urge to play it.its not me its the car.does this sound sane or am i possessed by my car.currently doing a 440 6 swap to it but thats not the car thats me.its a lust for thrust hahahahaha
i want it all-i want it yesterday-and i want it for nothing

I personally have a vast array of artists that I like to listen to
....another good song that I didnt hear anyone mention is Black Betty by Ram Jam
....How about Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company
....Steve Winwood with Traffic
....Mountain with Mississippi Queen?
....Deep Purple's song Speed King is a tune that in my opinion was years ahead of its time
....The entire Paranoid album, as well as the songs Sweet Leaf, Changes, etc. from Sabbath
....and then there is DIO....Pre-Sabbath, Sabbath, and Post-Sabbath....
