resource materials
« on: October 10, 2009 - 03:18:00 PM »
Are there any better resource materials than the paper factory 74 Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth manuals I bought from Year One?  I have a completely disassembled car (that someone bailed on) and everything in boxes and I hate to be a pest on the board asking everything.  The shop manual leaves a lot to be desired, I can't see all the detail in many of the illustrations.  are there any online where you can zoom in?  Thanks.

You can get pdf versions of the service manuals which allow you to zoom in a bit and print out pages to use without worrying about getting them all greasy.  This place is about the best resource you can get.  I have found that writing clear questions and sometimes including a picture of what you are doing can get amazingly valuable responses, often within minutes of the post.  I don't think I have ever seen anyone on this site being rude about the number of questions someone posts unless the post or questions themselves are rude.  I think we are all interested in getting these old machines back on the road. :2cents:

Just in case you did not know....

The factory service manuals were issued early in the model year. For corrections & additions to the FSM, Chrysler issued Technical Service Bulletins to the dealerships as needed. Some are the same (Plymouth or Dodge) & some are model specific. I do not have my '74 Plymouth set scanned yet, but you can see the 1974 Dodge versions I have at this link;

http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/1974-Dodge-TSB-Index.shtml

ALL of those pages go with & compliment the factory FSM, in some cases superceding the info in the FSM.
