I always change the oil and filter before I park my Challenger for the winter. I top off the tank and also put some 100LL gas from the airport in the tank because it is more stable than car gas. I also add Stabil.
I disconnect the battery, and pump the tires up to 45 psi to prevent flat spots.
I put a couple sheets of Bounce in the interior and one on top of the air cleaner to help keep mice away. And put the sun visors down! Mice love to climb up the A pillar and sit on the sun visors while chewing holes in your headliner. DAMHIK!
Some people put a pad of steel wool in their exhaust tips to keep mice from climbing up the exhaust and making a nest in the cylinders. I haven't done that but probably should, as I have known people who have had mice get into their engines over the winter!
That's what I do with my '70 and over the years that routine has worked fine for me when I park the car for our too long 5-6 month off season!
I have a new Challenger too now that I have to figure out any additional storage issues with, as I plan to park it from around Thanksgiving until April. I really don't want to put Bounce sheets in the interior and mess up that nice "new car" smell!!
I certainly won't be putting any 100LL gas in it, and with all the electronics I worry about the battery going low while it sits idle for 5 months.
Any advice on storing a late model car would be appreciated!
