I am thinking of getting a second generation Eagle Talon.  Does anyone have one?  Can anyone give me some advice on what to look for or at when looking at them.  I have some ideas but ill take your  :2cents:  Turbo all wheel drive sounds good to me.

ive got a 93 talon 2.0 fwd auto for a grand that would make a nice project car.

and yes its fast and yes it costs alot to make it really fast but ITS SO MUCH FUN!

 :iagree: Nothing is inexpensive, especially if you can't do it yourself.

Had one.  It was fast and a lot of fun when it ran, however it was broken alot.  I was a member of the forum on DSMtuners.com...most popular thread:  "What's wrong with your car?"  Should've told me something right there.  I got out and only lost $2000.

That said, the best combination would be an Eagle TSi AWD (they lag Eclipse prices by 25-40%) with a 1G motor.  The 2G motors can have issues with crank walk.

I had a Stealth.  It was a blast to drive, but I think I wrenched on it more, lol.  Got it running perfect and sold it while it was running good.  I'd never own another.   :2cents:

As already mentioned, the newer engines ('95+) had a tendency to walk the crank, but they do have better styling than the first generations (IMO) and are just a nice if you drop a first gen. (6-bolt, IIRC) into it.  I own a Stealth R/T Turbo (AWD/AWS/ECS) and must say that Mitsubishi really made a fun car when they designed the tt'd 6G72 engine, but they do get expensive quickly when parts begin to break or any issues arise.

Both, but I think you're better off finding on that hasnt been modified.  It just makes it that much worse.

We get lots of guys coming in looking for hard to find and expensive parts!! High breakdown rate judging by the same guys I see coming in looking 4 stuff!

the biggest problem is people dont do the repair when they should of like the timing belt is the largest problem that people always seem to end up breaking.  Ive had my talon for 7 years and until this year ive never had a problem where its left me standing on the side of the road.  If you buy smart (cheap and unmodded is the only way to buy them) and be conservative about modding them you'll be ok.  And you'll more than not take a loss when its time for resale.  But if your looking to make money on a car your not gonna find that in something like this.  I got mine for 1500 ran great just highmiles and a lil rough its not a show car is a total fun car and as much as i beat the piss outta it is pure fun and will still scare me a lil bit every time i drive it.
Ive lowered the boost to 18 psi now so its not so crazy just fun

Had two of them. Don't want anymore. One spit the countershaft bearing out into the pan with less than 40K on the motor and the other lost the auto tranny (Eagle Talon) after being impeccibly maintained by the former owner at about 100K. The word from a buddy of mine that has had a repair garage for decades is that at 100K the mechanicals self destruct.

I think they look, ride and handle excellent and have super nice interiors and stereos, but mechanically they are the suck. Pretty much like most foreign cars I have had experience with. Maybe I've just had bad luck with them. :2cents:
