4 speed tranny issue

Installed rebuild 833 23 spline tranny with  new centerforce clutch.I have grinding going into 3 and 4 gear.Could it be rod alignment.Any ideas. Thanks

It's probably not this shifter adjustment if it happens going between 3-4 or 4-3.  My guess is it's internal, the 3/4 slider is the one that tries to fall apart during assembly.

Could be the clutch, if you can go to reverse without grinding, probably not.

 I have had nothing but problems with C Force clutches , try eliminating that first

When the Centerforce clutch was put in, did the overcenter spring under the dash get disconnected? If not, the "fingers" on the clutch probably got damaged. That is what happened to my 'Cuda. I threw the clutch in the trash and put a McLeod Borg and Beck in. It made a huge difference!
