Virginia 440 1970 cuda on cudaworld
« on: October 13, 2009 - 08:09:47 PM »
Hi guys,
Anyone knows this cuda?
http://www.cudaworld.com/adDetail.php?cat_id=9&sub_id=0&ad_id=2265
Looks good to me. Anyone has any advise on this.
What price would be reasonable for such a car?
He's asking 42500$
I'm waiting for some details from seller.
Only thing missing to me seems to be a shaker a hood.
Thanks
JS

If it is numbers matching, I would say that is a good deal. Do you know if that is the original engine?

Looking at some of the details under the hood, I'd say it's a bit overpriced. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $30K for it. Just my :2cents:

if it is # matching 440-4bbl its a fair asking price. If its not or if a clone its worth at most $25k to $30k. :2cents: :2cents:

:iagree: If it's numbers matching its a good price, if its a clone not such a good price. June of 2008 I sold a 440 6 pack 4 speed clone that was sublime green, with rallye gauges and a shaker hood for $40k.

Thats the guy I bought my 'Cuda from.  His prices are usually pretty good.  I haven't seen that car, but if anyone wants I can go check it out.  He is about 30 minutes from me.

Got confirmation that it is a BS23U car, so real cuda, with 440. Also was originally manual.
Still waiting to know if it's numbers matching.

I think it is worth that since they only made 334 4 speed 440.The paint should high Quality for that price. No power brakes or steering. If it needs paint I would offer less.

Got answer back from seller.
Like you said motor non matching.
Tranny is. Says both were rebuilt in 2004....but who knows right?
I wouldn't mind a clone but I can't find anything at a descent price in either green , burnt orange or bright yellow (can't remember the mopar color names). I'm not negociable on color :-) I can handle changing an engine but not a color!
Everything on ebay is like over 70K so....
I'm considering this one. Don't know how negociable he is.
Asking 42,500$ ...still a lot of dough....
With the canadian dollar at almost par now , it's time for me to buy.
I can't wait too long 'cause it can dive back to 80 cents on the dollar fast!
Decisions, decisions!

You're right, that one is nice too.
But 42,500 was already pushing the enveloppe for me. So 5 K is over the line.
And it's an auto, I much prefer manual, pistol grip at that.
So we're comparing a real BS 440 manual cuda to a real TA auto.
Comparable cars to my eye and taste....
Thanks
