Glennster,

As noted by another member, this is the best time to go through your frontend suspension if you have not done so already.

I meant to mention that in my last post.....One of the first things I did when I got the car was the front end work. The power steering pump and steering box where leaking. I gave the car to a local front end shop. They replaced and fixed everything that was worn out and lined her up. That was an expensive deal, but I wanted the suspension and steering RIGHT!
The K  will get a paint job!
THANKS for the guidance!

Timing is everything....
I got the car back from paint, but I'm busy with many other obligations.
At least I made some progress today. The engine and transmission go in tomorrow night!
My lack of experience sure shows up as I put her together, I installed the brake booster 3 times. Once without the linkage, once with the arm on the linkage pointed the wrong way....Third times a charm.
I also discovered that I can't install the steering column by myself. I put lots of bolts in zip lock bags and marked them, should have done them ALL!!!! I find myself scratching my head wondering what to put where.
There are still plenty of screws and bolts that needed to be cleaned and painted. Everything is taking much longer than I thought it would......
Bottom line, I'm really enjoying this! ! ! ! ! ! !

THANK YOU Gentlemen! ! !

Tonight was a GREAT night, with lots of help from some fantastic guys....THE MOTOR IS IN! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Looks Easy....Maybe.....

There's Jeb, he skillfully guides the tranny into the tunnel.....

That's Jim & Jeb, I know what they're thinking.... '' How did we let Glenn talk us into this mess ''?!?!?!?!

Then, when the headers were a little too close to the starter, Jim pulls some great old gaskets out of his secret stash to save the day.....AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
The thicker gasket got us the clearance we needed to stop from toasting the starter..

I'm like a stinking kid. I knew last night that we were going to put the motor & tranny in, I couldn't sleep. I just kept thinking about how it would go. This is all new to me. I'm loving every minute!!!!

Please tell me you are putting the bodyside moldings back on   :jumping:  It is so rare to see nowadays and with white it will look so clean, while protecting your new paint to boot!

The trim never came off......
The only thing painted was the new R/T Hood, the top of the the front fenders and the engine compartment.
Your wish is granted Sir!

Many more small details were attended to yesterday. The shifter linkage was a real problem. I think the 727 tranny was about 3/8'' wider where the bracket bolts on. That had us scratching our heads for a while. We cut and shortened the bracket that bolts to the tranny and everything fit fine after that........

The new drive shaft is ready to turn the new 8 3/4 rear!!!
