Another Saturday gone and some more progress...

Patch panel is now fully welded.

Started grinding the excess off to get ready for filler.

BTW, I had picked this up for another project, but it works really well for spotting body panels together.  Paint, no paint, etc.  It was awesome.

Looking good! How much was the panel-spotter?

Mine was on sale $129.99.  Gotta keep an eye on Harbor Freight's sales...

Wow that is something I am going to have to get to do my car. Would make it look more original and everything.  Not a bad price for it either. :2thumbs:
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Well, I forgot to take my camera to the previous week's class, so this week looks like a lot of progress.  I'm very happy with how it's coming, but it's obvious I'll have to take the course next semester as well.  We have one Saturday to go and it's over.

Have you fit the valence yet? It can be a real problem area. My new quarters where so far removed from what the factory stamped that my original valence wouldn't lay down. I had to make new depressions for the valence end, as well as for the valance tabs....

This was the begiining...

So I mocked and cut and hacked and shaped and welded...

Sorry - too many pics....my bad!

The inner and outer still have not been fully welded together, so I've got a lot of adjustability.  Good to keep in mind, though.

Prepping for re-attaching the valance.  Got the holes drilled for speed nuts.

Also got the first layer of filler on the wheel opening...

...and sanded back off (mostly)

Another layer added back on.  Didn't have time to sand this, but it'll take at least one more coat after this.

Don't hate me.  Found the Miller Elite pair on Craigslist for $100.  The black one has the auto-dark module.  The Joker shell was used as a grinding hood.  I'll probably sand and paint it for practice.
