Great job Steve, especially on the rear panel that looks awesome. What type of seam sealer did you use for the front fender? The kind that get's hard or stays soft. I had the same problem with the guy that did my Road Runner. I was planning on loosening the bolts and putting strip caulk then tightening and letting it squeeze out a little. It's paintable so I thought I could match it. Did you loosen your fender or just force the seem sealer in?
Thanks

I used 3M in a caulking tube. I squeezed it in where I could and applied it from my finger in the hard to reach areas. It eventually gets hard, but gets a "skin" pretty quickly. I loosened and lifted the right fender, but the left was socked down when I applied the SS.

Finished applying the big stripe pieces Saturday. Gary should have the quarter sections done soon.

First, I get the stripe aligned and tape it on with a couple pieces of painter's tape. Once in place, I put more tape on the car right above the paper and put a slash across both for alignment after the backing is off.

Copious amounts of soapy water are sprayed on the car AND the stripe and the fun begins. LOTS of rubbing with a squegee, then more rubbing, then the paper starts to come off. Then more rubbing.

Great job on the stripes Steve! How hard is it to position them and get them where you want them while still moist enough to adjust? I am thinking of doing my stripes myself and as they are non R/T 71 style they are much the same size as yours. Your car is coming along nicely!   :woo:

Looking good, cool stripe design, a new set of wheels and tires are sure gonna transform that car into a beauty!   :bananasmi

It's not bad, really. I try to work on a cool day in the shade so the water doesn't dry too quickly. For me, laying on stripes is a mutiple personality type experience. It's not difficult, but still very stressful, since you only get one shot once you start pressing that squeegee down.

If you're way off, you can lift the whole stripe and start over. Usually, they slide around pretty easily. The worst part for me is when I'm taking off the backing paper on a long piece to expose the sticky side and the wind decides to kick up! I peel off half, spray er down and tear off half the paper. Once that part is on the car, I peel and spray the rest.

It's almost impossible to get pics of the whole step-by-step process, since I can't take pics with a stripe in my hand.

I should mention that our very own ChallengerGary is the maker of the stripes. We worked together on the design.

I will likely be at The Rock, not sure if the car will make it.....

Steve,

Are the stripes going back further, or stopping at the door?

They will continue on to the back of the 1/4 windows like a T/A stripe. we ran into a minor technical glitch and Gary is adjusting those sections as we speak.
