I hope things work out for the little fella. I hope you folks end up as his legal guardians, but unfortunately courts usually side with the natural parents. In any event, what's best for the young one is what's at stake. Maybe the dad will get his act together and turn his life around (sounds like he needs a good ole country arse whupping). I'll be praying for you, your family and for the little one's well being! :angelwings:

Thanks yall. We have a 6 month old son, so it will be kind of different having a 5 year old around. I'm pretty nervous, but I'm sure God will lead us in the right direction.

Today my wife was looking over Nathan with the CPS lady and they found bruises all over his body, and a cut behind his ear. Last night my wife went into his room and he was laying there crying. She asked him what was wrong and he said he missed his dad and that he was scared. I feel so sorry for the little boy. I wish I was at home so I could just hold him and comfort him. Apparently John (his father) wasn't supposed to have him anyway. CPS made a case against him last year along with his other kids. We were under the impression that he was allowed to keep Nathan, but I guess that isn't so. They told my wife today that she wasn't to allow John anywhere near Nathan. I don't have any problem with that at all, and neither does she.

No child deserves this. I feel so bad for him.

Good luck with everything. My heart breaks for the little guy.  :crying:  I was raised in a very abusive home. Lucky for him you'll get him away from it.

Good luck with the legal battle. The little guy deserves a good home with love and care, just like every other child. It's gruesome that the ones who are supposed to love and protect him are the ones he needs protection from. Hope you get him away.

Like Dan said, you're a man of true character.   It is a big responcibility.  I feel bad for the little kid and no kid deserves to be treated the way he has been but it must be real tough for Nathan being that his parents are taken away.  Even though they have abused him, they are still his parents and he'll still miss them.

A very sad sitution but you're doing the right thing!   You will only make his future brighter.  :grinyes:
