Cuda Seats
« on: October 18, 2009 - 11:57:18 AM »
Hi, I have a 72 Cuda, but the seats are not original and appear to be from a different year. I'm wondering if I can replace with '72 foam and upholstery. Any Ideas? Thanks.

Hopefully this link works:

I don't recognize those as seats from an e-body  :dunno:

That could be true; I have looked at other Cuda seats and none have this pattern. Here are a couple other pics. Does Mopar stamp the seat frames or is there any other way to tell the make? Thanks!

If you look on the backside of a piece of plastic there may be a pentastar along with a part number....good news is it appears to be the correct brackets but those are not out of anything from the early '70's Mopars ....

Love the slots!

As for the seats, I'm thinking Volare/Aspen late 70's through early 80's.

Yeah, I'm not sure on the seats- I've decided to go with something more modern. As for the slots- Thank! I had considered getting something else, but maybe I'll look at fixing them up- any ideas?

Are the slots 15"? What is the backspacing in the rear?

Those new seats you are going for - where do you buy them please and do they adapt to the Challenger/Cuda adjustment rails easily?

I found the seats on ebay (stated they would fit cuda/challenger) you can search key word on ebay "recaro style seats". I'll post a link tonight. They cost about 500 and includes shipping. I'll let you know how they install- probably wont get to it for another month or so.
