Need help
« on: October 18, 2009 - 10:28:57 PM »
Ok, I dont know what its called so I will describe it. On a 70 Barracuda, with a 727 tranny, there is an arm on the tranny that is used in conjunction with the floor shifter linkage used to change gears. It appears I may have the wrong "arm" because it does not extend out far enough laterally (towards the driver side) for me to install the factory linkage. It had an aftermarket shifter installed and I put the original back in it, so, I need help.

I will get some pics later. Do you know what the part #'s are for the two different types? I have the floor shift with the Slap Stick so thats what it is for.

That lever was probably for a cable shifter, which is shorter since you said it had an aftermarket shifter in it. Send it to me and I'll trade you for a stock arm.

I'm looking for a ratchet shifter so that my pistol grip is always in the same spot. What brand/model is yours?  I have a whole slapstick setup to trade. I already have a "star shifter" type.

PM me your address, then I'll send you mine.

I really like the Hurst Pro-Matic for this.
