Restorring Trim

Hi am cleaning and polishing my trims they came out good .Has any one try to but clear coat on them or just let them like that .They are aluminu trim .Am shure this came up before when you us the easyofff cleaner do you have to let it on the trim a long time .
1941 Dodge truck 340cu
1935 ford 3window coupe 327cu
1965 Acadian Beaumont Convertible 283cu
1973 Challenger 318cu

IF your talking about stripping off the anodising from the aluminium trim...I don't think the oven cleaner needs to sit on them for very long.  As far as coating them after they are polished...I think it depends on how much the car is in the elements.  Some people have clear coated them and others havn't done anything.  If you choose to not coat them with anything, and you drive the car alot, you will probably be polishing the trim more often.

I know of some pretty big shops that just clear coat the aluminum.  Re-anodizing is the best though.
