There's a lot to know about the Flu Vaccinations, Here are 9 of 18 reasons why you should NOT get the shot:

   1.  The swine flu is simply another flu. It is not unusually deadly.
   2.  This is the first time both seasonal and pandemic flu vaccines will be administered. Both seasonal flu and swine flu vaccines will require two inoculations. This is because single inoculations have failed to produce sufficient antibodies. This is an admission that prior flu vaccines were virtually useless. Can you trust them this time?
   3.   Adjuvants are added to vaccines to boost production of antibodies but may trigger autoimmune reactions. Some adjuvants are mercury (thimerosal), aluminum and squalene. Why would you sign a consent form for your children to be injected with mercury, which is even more brain-toxic than lead?  NOTE:  Most of the vaccines will have Thimerosal in them, which is 50% mercury, which is just plain poison for you.
   4.  This is the first year mock vaccines have been used to gain FDA approval. The vaccines that have been tested are not the same vaccines your children will be given.
   5.   Over-vaccination is a common practice now in America. American children are subjected to 29 vaccines by the age of two. Meanwhile, veterinarians have backed off of repeat vaccination in dogs because of observed side effects.
   6.    Modern medicine has no explanation for autism, despite its continued rise in prevalence. Yet autism is not reported among Amish children who go unvaccinated.
   7.    Researchers are warning that over-use of the flu vaccine and anti-flu drugs like Tamiflu and Relenza can apply genetic pressure on flu viruses and then they are more likely to mutate into a more deadly strain.
   8.    Most seasonal influenza A (H1N1) virus strains tested from the United States and other countries are now resistant to Tamiflu (oseltamivir). Tamiflu has become a nearly worthless drug against seasonal flu.
   9. Public health officials are irresponsible in their omission of any ways to strengthen immunity against the flu. No options outside of problematic vaccines and anti-flu drugs are offered, despite the fact there is strong evidence that vitamins C and D activate the immune system and the trace mineral selenium prevents the worst form of the disease.

I also have no plans on getting this vaccine.  I no longer agree with "convenience" vaccinations.  Not giving our immune systems time to strengthen themselves is only going to make us that much more reliant on these vaccines.  What happens when we get a more serious one that isn't vaccinated for yet?  I don't agree with the crazy number of vaccines, pills, and excessive use of hand sanitizers people use nowadays.  I think it is making us worse off in the long run.

Since I've stopped doing vaccines and most medicine I have not gotten sick in over 3 years.  Not a sniffle, nothing!  Part of that was in college too, and I was exposed to H1N1 at work in the office a few months back.  Maybe I've just been lucky but I'll roll with it.

And when something bad does come along, I think the ones who have let there bodies do their jobs will be the survivors.  Unless it is for something that is pretty much completely deadly or dangerous I won't get one.  Nor will my kids.  Normal flue can and does kill people all of the time.  Just like most illness it is the very young, weak, and old that get hit hard.  IMO, this is just a nasty flu, not a zombie plague virus like they make it out to be.

Maybe I'm old, maybe I'm stupid, maybe I'm bullheaded...................but I have not nor will I get a flu shot. I have had 3 surgerys in my life time, back/vertabra, appendix, and gull bladder. I was at the hospital one other time, when I was born. I have not been sick with colds or flu, but did get broncontis (sp) once because my wife brought it home from her work. All my vitals are normal and I'm on no medications, and I have to have one heck of a hang over............er, head ache before I even take an asperin. Maybe that's not the right way to do things but that is the way it is  :dunno:

Besides I understand the swine flu is mainly "attracted" to school kids and pregnant women. I'm way too old for the first and don't qualify for the other.

Like MEK and Chris said, a shot from a glass keeps me perked up, which reminds me, my "cold medicine" is real low, worrying about that 440 and then celebrating has it near depleated.  :roflsmiley:

I agree with brads70. Remember the thalidimide babies? That was supposed to be safe, too. Wouldn't it be a hoot if 60 million people started growing a third eye in the center of their forehead?

There was a large group of protestors today outside a clinic near my home where flu shots were being given. A big area of contention was indeed Thimerosal & autism. The doctor on staff reported it to be completely safe and said it had been in use since the 1930's. Kinda makes one wonder about how safe it really is. I'll pass on the shots!!

Just wondering where the line is drawn.  Is it just vaccinations? Is a tetanus shot OK?  How about an antibiotic? All modern medicine or just preventative measures?

I dont' know if it's true, but I heard that three of the four plants producing the vaccine are overseas.
