    Street Legal Bumper Cars

    This is so cool, you've gotta read it. A man in California (Tom Wright) has taken bumper cars from the Long Beach Pike Amusement Park, restored them and powered them with a 750cc Honda or Kawasaki motorcycle engine. They seem to be on a 4-wheeler (quad-runner) type frame. They are street legal and have been determined to be capable of 160 mph!! That's darn scary in those little buggers!!     Those things look pretty neat.   :2thumbs:  I wonder how they would run with a warmed up 340 calling the shots?     :burnout:       

    Oh yeah, wheelie bars would be mandatory....    :bigsmile:

    That's what a REAL bumper car is!!! I didn't read where the guy is actually marketing them, but I'll bet he'd have a few takers is he is!! :woo:

    Well after some research what I have found is that there are at least 8 of these bumper cars running around San Diego and they are all owned by the same family. The first one cost (are you ready for this) $50,000 to build! Now I am sure that the subsequent cars were less to build, but wow. I would love to have one. I showed my wife, and now she wants one.
