T56 Magnum to 3G HEMI Mopar including LA engine series
Also covers B / RB engines using a different Quick Time Bell Housing
Bell Housing
The Quick Time bellhousing is the best solution for the Mopar adaptation. The T56 Magnum transmissions bolt pattern is the same as the T56 LS1 Chevy transmission. The bell housing part number for the T-56 Magnum to small block Mopar (LA) and 3G HEMI is Quick Time P/N RM6076.
Roller Pilot Bearing
The new Magnum T56 uses the same roller pilot bearing as the Chevy TKO 5 Speeds. The GM part # is 14061685 and AC Delco is CT1078. This bearing will have to be press fit into the pilot bearing adaptor just like the Mopars currently do.
Transmission Isolation Mount
Isolation mount – Energy Suspension. The thickness of the energy suspension mount is just a shade over 2.0” (2.022”). This is the Chevy mount with the 1.50 center to center with 7/16-14 mounting screws required at the mount.
Transmission Cross Member
Cross member – The E-Body T-56 cross member ready for fabrication. The pattern is in the waterjet – tooled under Global Overdrive Part Number ME-T56-1001 The isolation is the standard polyurethane unit from Energy Suspension (Chevy – narrow design) See above.
Speedometer Cable
The T-56 Magnum uses the same speedometer cable as the TKO family of transmissions. Mechanical and Electrical Connections are available on the transmission. Use the standard E-Body speedometer cable for mechanical applications.
Flywheel and Clutch w/ Hardware
3G Hemi Flywheel – Use existing McLeod unit for the 3G HEMI flywheel – 8 bolt crank flange. This flywheel is the only one on the market that has the correct diameter bolt holes at this time.
3G HEMI Flywheel – 130 tooth - Use METRIC Hardware for attached to the crankshaft – Qty. 8 10mm x 21mm long Grade 12.9 ARP only
Clutch: 10 ½” standard clutch - Clutch hardware is standard IFI specification grade 8.
Clutch Disc – 1 1/8 -26 spline clutch disc.
Clutch Alignment Tool – Centerforce 26 spline alignment tool. (Hawii Racing OR Speedway)
Starter
When using the Quick Time bell housing it is recommended to use the Mopar Performance mini / hi-torque starter. Stock Mopar location is on the drivers side of the engine. The trimming of 2 bosses is required on the drivers side of the engine to properly fit and seat the starter. A small wizzer wheel makes this work easy.
Quick Time is also fitting the starters on the right side (passenger side of the engine) in the dedicated 3G installations and using the stock starters. (take note)
Output Yoke
31 Spline Ford C6 output shaft yoke – Same as the TKO series.
Hardware – Trans Mounting, Cross Member, Isolation Mount, etc….
The hardware kit for the T-56 Magnum is the same and Classic Mopar B-Body kit. The offset shifter for the E-Body is not required so use the B-Body Hardware Kit.
Clutch Hydraulics
The use of the Cheverolet (RAM) clutch hydraulics with a Tilton Master Cylinder is to be used and coupled with the bracket for the Mopar E/ B-Bodies. The bracket is available in two styles, billet and formed steel. Billet brackets require about 2 weeks for the delivery as they are not a stock item.
