Had some time to work on the car yesterday.installed the luggage rack wheel lip moldings, door handles, fender badges ,Top fender indicator lights, painted hood scoops and  hood pin plates. Front and rear bumper brackets/braces front and rear valances.  I just love how this color makes the chrome POP!!! Still can"t wait to see the GATOR top on her!!!

For the lock cover I went to a hobby store where the sell small gars of paint lacquer or enamel  and with a steady hand painted it accordingly. If you mess up don't worry as it wipes up very easy,as long as the colors don't run into each other then you must start all over again.Hope this helps.

Did you use a resin over top of the paint?  I had some re-pops where the resin yellowed with a year or two of age.  supposedly there is a non-yellowing resin un-affected by UV and age.  I don't recall the particulars at the moment.

Oh, and when you go to install the lower rockers, there is a thread on using aftermarket clips.  Let me know if you need help in finding it.

For the lock cover I just used a clear that the hobby store had to offer not a spray but what came in a small gar like the enamel I put at least 6 to 10 coats from what I remember till it was flush to the top edge of the chrome. and I did see your post EB3-GranCoupe on the rocker molding clips thanks for posting that great info!!!

Great idea, thanks!
Will definitely try that on my fender emblems.

Let me pick your brain some more on the trunk lock cover.
How did you get rid of the old resin? I am asking as mine still has the resin but it is scratched and yellowed.

EB3, did you ever restore your emblems? As I remember, we discussed that some year ago in another thread.

I completely removed everything with lacquer thinners and a buffing wheel.

moparstyle,
I did not.  My trunk emblem is unrestored, and the fender emblems are re-pops.  i have another trunk emblem, the one we were talking about, that i still want to do, but haven't had the time.  I used Testors enamel to restore some Charger R/T emblems years ago, and it is great stuff.

Roy, my original still has some of the argent on the base, and on the flat portion of the cover. a nice detail if you want to go that far.

I have 3 Lock covers I have restored, used the same paint ,however I have some clear acrylic from my Dental lab to cover it all, the colors are weird due to the camera angle, but they look great since we cant find any re pops
