Yet another 340 question
« on: October 31, 2009 - 10:34:03 PM »
I am putting together a 340 for my friends '72 Challenger.

I am finishing up the short block just about to put the heads and intake on it.  I found a round shield and hollow threaded adapter that holds it on that goes where the oil filter will go.  The question I have is this, there is a hole that is threaded (Arrow in this picture).

Am I supposed to put anything in the hole before I put the shield in place?  Like a pipe plug that came in the freeze plug set?  I have extra.  If so is there anything that I am supposed to put in the hole before I put the plug in?  :dunno:

Here is a pic with the shield in place.

I have never put a Mopar engine together.

Thanks!  :ylsuper:

Jeff

Yes, that hole gets a pipe plug.
