Daughters team competing for State this weekend
« on: November 02, 2009 - 08:47:55 PM »
The girls won district 2 weeks ago and this last weekend they won their playoff game against a pretty good Albuquerque team. They play again Thursday against the first or second seed. They are ranked as the 6th seed. It will be a challenge for sure but if they get past the next game they have a great chance to place high in the State 5A tournament. My daughter has crept up to the third ranked keeper in the state. I am excited and taking some vacation for the weekend. GO Cavegirls!

Very cool!  Congrats!

But pardon my ignorance, what sport are we talking here?  :clueless:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Congratulations!  I wish them luck.  I know how thrilling it is for your kids to have this opportunity. Relish these times with her, for they will be over in a flash....    :2thumbs:

Sorry guys, its Soccer. Thanks for the thumbs up, I sure hope they do well.

D'oh!  I should have known when you said "keeper", dope that I am....and I helped coach my son's soccer team...no wonder they lost so much!!!  :faint:

Congrats!  Is this college level?  Keeper (I call it goalie) is a tough position.  A lot of weight falls on your shoulders.  She must have nerves of steel!  :grinyes:

No they beat Valley Vikings last Saturday. They play Cleveland high which is supposed to be top tier. My brother in law says he thinks they are the best high school team around. Lots of really good club teams and some world class coaches and athletes in the Albuquerque area. They have their work cut out for them for sure.

Thanks Kenny, thanks everyone, I know my wife and I are super stoked. This is only the second time in Cavegirl history that a team has made it this far. My wife played on the team in '88 when they went undefeated in regular season play but they failed to win the playoff game. She is at this moment sewing my daughters C on her letterman jacket. She lettered in track and soccer as a freshman last year. I will take all the good wishes as they will surely need them. Thanks again all!   :woo:

Congrats!! I know how proud you must feel. I also know it takes a lot of time. I can't count the times I got soaked or froze my butt off cheering for my daughter from the sidelines. She too has played goalie for rec league and last year for her high school. Good Luck and I hope they win state!! Pins and needles, pins and needles!! :clapping:
