Wheel to wheel measurements
« on: November 04, 2009 - 08:50:40 AM »
So, I'm researching U-Haul to see how much the car hauler is going to cost me to get the Challenger from my brother down here.  Without having to find one to measure, can anybody tell me the wheel to wheel (outside to outside) width and wheelbase length of a 72 Challenger.  I just need to know if it will fit on the car hauler from uhaul.  I hate spending $575 for a one way rental though.

THANKS!

the width has to be just under 6' so go with that , the wheelbase is 112"

front  outside 68" with 230-60R/14 tires, 5.5"wide rim... different wheel/tire could be a little wider.
Challenger wheelbase 112", radius of my tires 12.5"  112+12.5+12.5=137

Maybe buy a trailer & when your through with it sell for most of your investment

Awesome!  Thank you!  It might be cheaper for me to buy a car hauler, use it once to get the car here, then sell it?

Might have your brother check his area also.

Great idea!  I bought an enclosed trailer up there last year.  I will check them out.
