nice progress on your car.   It looks like you replace only the top area of the front floor pan.  What kind of sheet metal did you use ?  I've always seen the whole front pan replacement in one or two pieces.     I'm interested because I'm approaching to do the  same job.

hi,  oredered goodmark front floor pans (separate) for driver and passenger - they do not include th tranny tunnel. The same with rear floors - only the foot pans with 2-3" of wall, without the log transverse hump that is between the rear floor pans and under seta pan.
I had some rust in all foot wells so one piece floor was not necessary.

Ok, a step ahead - we have the body work finished, now blocking the sheetmetal.

Meanwhile the engine is reassembled with new KB400 pistons, steel head gaskets and other stock parts. I hope to get 9.5:1 with 84cc (measured) chambers and KB400 pistons. Block not decked.

Some parts are already painted ;) and the filler work has been completed.

We had some issues with the block - some pitting close to the cylinder wall and the block was decked a little to remove pitting. Now it should be 1:9,7 static CR  :grinyes:

Next week it should be painted. I hope to have it for a spin before autumn rain/snow starts to pour...

Detailing is the shop's weakest point. They see no difference between cast iron and natural steel colors... When completed I'll have to repaint some components.

looks sweet willard, nice work.       I was just wondering if you test fitted the tailpanel chrome?  may be the angle of the picture but it looks like there is some difference left to right?
that enginebay looks absolutely great. the engine in the same color makes it look real clean  :bigshades:  did you rebuild the engine?

The car should be ready in 2 weeks (incl. test drive and all checks, adjustments). I hope there will still be cool autumn in october here. No snow :|

Yes, the 383 was rebuild with new pistons to raise the CR to the desired level (approx. 9,7:1) and change in power must be noticeable.

Honestly I dont know if they checked the trim fitting - I hopethey did so cause it's SE and the tailpanel is a hard to tweak piece of trim. They did great job with body work: car wasnt straight. level, was hit right rear and front left - now it is perfectly straight, symetric and level and alle gaps are nice and even.

I also decided to buy a set of detailing colors from eastwood's and will finish the different shades of steel, iron, alu during long winter months. Also half of bolts and screws will need to be replated... they made the all shining silver zinc coated.

Dutch, your car is really cool...
