Thank God we finished. A little summary:
Starting point: driveable, complete, nice (10 footer) almost rust free 70 challenger r/t se with a low comp 383 and lazy 727.
Scope of work:
- replacing: quarter skin, trunk extensions, trunk flook, wheelhouse, underseat pan, pass and drivers floors
- straightening the car (many colission damages, warped underseat pan hit by the diff)
- protecting the profiles, framerails, undercoating
- urethane interior, engine bay, underside paint
- bc/cc EK2 exterior
- rebuilding the rear end
- replacing pistons to get 9.5+:1 CR plus some engine detailing (replacing distributor, alternator, hoses, wiper motor), block and heads milled a little
- detailing engine bay: shroud, fan, MC, VR, distributor, wires, looms etc.
- interior as it was
- replacing weatherstripping and all seals/gaskets
- rebuilding the front end
- cleaning and painting exhaust
- small (gaskets and clutches) 727 rebuild
- painting wheels, all drivetrain and suspension parts (most powder coated and will last years...)
- new tank, heat shields, fender, kframe, starter shields
- some new moldings
- new speakers and hidden radio
- cleaned and checked all wirings
- new vinyl top and decals
- rebuilding the ac box and checking/filling the system
- car total disassembly and reassembly

Total work, material and parts totalled $17k (initial budget was $4k  :roflsmiley:) and car is a show condition instead of 10 footer and now the underside looks just right. Moreover this car could be driven anywhere and kept outside and it WONT rust! (of course it will be garaged safely...)
I left the car at the end of november 2009... work took 6 months more than expected. Whole 2010 season wasted  :villagers:
What is left are all maintenace decals, proper battery, detailing diff shades of steel/iron in engine/on the underside, battery cables, pedals bezels, compressor tag, some little items...

Damn... that $17k was labor and materials only, parts are extra $3k. So total is $20k.

Thanks for cheering me up Dutch. I hope the car is sound and like new now.  :bananasmi
And it'll be reliable. The workshop is making the final touches to the geometry: both rear and front axis where off (not perpendicular to body axis). Estimated reception of finished car is wednesday.

Never heard that the front bumper may be wrong - it is dead on matching to the car- follows the grille and fenders contours perfectly so I assume it's a chellenger one ;)
I'm glad you like the car.

look at some 70 challenger pics, the bumper fills the hole in the fenders.
