Well, the 69 Polara 500 has the original 383 4 bbl., the 70 Charger 500 has the original 383 4bbl (w. 4 sp.), the 71 Dart has awaiting a 440 dual quad, the 72 has a 440+6, and the 73 Chally has a 360 4bbl.

Honestly if I could have found an early (70-71) 340 that I could afford to buy I'd probably put it in the Dart, but I actually prefer BB cars, the torque and sound is unbeatable. And as far as comparing 340 to 440 (original stockers) is like comparing a B cup to a double D cup on some hottie.  :cooldancing:  :bananasmi  :clapping:  :woohoo:  :roflsmiley:  :smilielol:

Mine has the original 318(siezed) in it right now, next up is my perfectly running 383 and I've got my 440 to build and will eventually end up in it.  Can't have enough engines! :working:

My cuda runs a 340,the Duster drag car a 360 and the `70 road runner is getting it`s #`s 383 rebiult.I may biuld a stroker over the winter and swap my current 340 into the duster so the cuda will have a 416 sb.

My 70 Charger 500 has a numbers matching 383 and 727.  The Challenger now has a built-up 383, but it was originally a 318 car.  Seems like all Challengers were originally 318 cars   :dunno:

Well it's not in the car yet, but a 340 stroked to a 416 with a solid roller.

I am currently running a big inch Hemi in an "A" body Cuda.  It is a great sraight line performer, but that's about it.  It looks and sounds intimidating.  It is a fun weekend toy and occasional dragstrip runner.  The best so far has been 9.78 @ 138.xx  Not looking to run any faster -- it is what it is....    :2thumbs:
