Been to munchies quite a few times.
Twice in rides of mine.
First time was in my 2000 Dodge Ram with blown 360magnum.
Second time was one year I bought my 440 69 notch Barracuda down for Chryslwer Expo.

  very nice rides mate. There was a huge turnout! I didnt take photos but there was a very nice blue and white 71 cuda there  Im going again next friday

This sounds like the strut rod bushings may be soft and allowing the control arm to move around, especially under hard braking.

HP2.... How far should the strut bushes be done up? Is there a torque setting or a measurement? In between the washer and the k frame i have 19mm on driver side and 21mm on passenger!!!!! Im sure they should be done up tighter than that???

Ok Ive just looked in a vg valiant workshop manual and it says to do the nut up to 100 lbs/ft!!!!! Is the same for the challenger?

From a '73 dodge service manual,
Strut to control arm 105ft#
Strut to frame 52 ft#

OK guys! Im going to replace the strut bushes. They do look a bit soft and thats all i can put my problems down too. Im having serious doubts as to whether the mechanic has looked at my car properly?? What is the best bush for the job? Eurothane?

Urethane is certainly more solid and will deflect less than rubber, which makes it a good choice for a strut bushing. However, you have to be very careful about using urethane bushings because some of them are over sized and will push the lower control arm back and create a gap where it fits against the subframe. Rubber bushings typically do not have this problem and can just bolt in and go.

Well i have an update!!!!!! My steering box is worn out and it could cost me $900 to have the steering guy rebuild it??  Im not spending that sought of money!!!!!! Can anybody steer me in the right direction as to how i can rebuild it and with what parts?? It dosent leak and dosent make any noises. Its adjusted as much as it can be ontop,is there any other adjustments i can do? Any help greatly appreciated

Weight of the gear is the problem for shipping, but we would have to figure that into the price that your getting now, My turn around on a rebuild is about 3 days.
