Regretfully, I’m selling my 1972 Dodge Charger. I have owned this vehicle for three years and put much work and money into it. The car is 1972 hardtop. The car was originally dark green metallic as evidenced by original paint on interior, trunk, and firewall. At some point the car was hit in the front left fender and it was replaced by a petty blue colored fender and the whole car received a repaint in light green metallic. During this time, the fender tag was never put back on and lost. The paint has very lightly scraped away revealing petty blue underneath the fender. The car has a tan vinyl canopy top with drip moldings. The front concealed headlights open and close flawlessly and all other lights except the front left fender mounted turn signal work. I just put in a new trunk lock as the original one finally fell apart last week. Inside, both the front and rear seats had received brand new white seat covers. The car has its original AM radio, but an aftermarket tape AM/FM player was fitted so I don’t know if the original radio works. There are two aftermarket 6 by 9 speakers in the package tray. All lights inside work as well as signals. The dash has sun cracks, but other than that the interior is in gorgeous condition. The best part about this car is the condition of the body. The car has been in Ohio since 2003, which before that was in New York, and I have no idea where else from. The body is very straight along with very rust free. The car is about 97% rust free. There is smaller surface rust spots and small bubbling in the paint around the rear window channels, the trunk, and the lower rockers. Both rockers in front of the rear wheel wells are the rustiest parts of the car. They have slight corrosion. There is also one small pinhole in the trunk. The car still has the original full size spare in the trunk along with jack and trunk mat. All the original VIN stickers are on the body along with the tire information chart. The car runs and drives fantastic, but the carb does have problems and sometimes will not let the car stay running. The engine starts right away and does not smoke or make noises. The left hand muffler is ripped open, so the car is decently loud.
Approximately 1000 miles ago the car got:
