master cylinder cover

I bought a reman master cylinder from NAPA in 97 for my 73 and it has been on the shelf ever since.  I pulled it out yesterday because I was going to send some parts off to be plated.  The cover needs to be plated in zinc dichromate.  The problem is that the cover that came on the reman unit is all dented up.  Does anyone know where I can find a good master cylinder cover that I can have plated?  I still have my origonal master but the cover is rust pitted and can't be used either.  I've found new chrome plated ones on-line but I just need a bare one. I don't need a chrome one.  I need a plain one that is in good enough shape to be plated in the correct zinc dichromate.

I talked with the parts store that I got the master from.  They ordered in a replacment master and we are just going to swap covers.  I'm going there today at lunch so I should be good to go.  Thanks

For me a cover is not a cover..

I changed my master cyl. and wanted to put my cromed cover on the new one, - but it's turn 180 degress....

Nope...that's not the right one.  The rounded end on my master in is front which is the smaller reservoir.  Thanks for checking.

As long as they are free from any pits(plating doesn't cover any pitting so the part has to be in great shape or you will still see the flaws afterward)and the smaller resevoir needs to be the rounded one.

Three of yours look correct.  The one with the stamping is not.  The one on the far left looks really good.  Is it as good as it looks?

Also, can you check and see if you can see the stamping on the underside of the one cover that is stamped?  The outside of my origonal is very pitted and has no sign of a stamp.  The underside also shows NO sign of a stamp.  Thanks

To me the second from the left looks more like it...seems the small bump is rounded more than the outer two... the smaller black one I think is for a 70... by chance I have a 70 off a Duster

I just put it in the dip tank to remove the paint, the solution I use won't harm the plating, just removes paint and grease.
There appears to be no markings anywhere on any of them.
The one on the left is the best.

I'll post a new picture as soon as I get it cleaned

I'll take another look at my origonal one and see how rounded it really is.

I cleaned the best one, it is nice but has a small dent in the top.The other two are pitted beyond plating.

Center does not look so bad... I sanded & buffed on a bad one then found it did not fit my MC...metal is pretty thick. Mine is bent & dented.
