Oil pump with stock pan
« on: November 12, 2009 - 01:51:26 AM »
Going to be removing my old leaky crack headers this weekend and putting on those 340 HP exhaust manifolds. Got a set at a fair price and figure I can always sell them later on--unlike used headers. (I'm hoping for just a slight power loss)

To remove them without cutting them the center link needs to come mostly out. My oil pan is leaking pretty bad and thinking of replacing the pan gasket while I am at it.

Which pump should I go with? I like to use the high flow pump Have the standard pump with a shimmed relief spring now but not sure if it suck the pan dry during WOT, motor revs to 6500 on a MSD tach. Motor was rebuilt roughly 30,000 miles ago and I drive the car hard.

Don't have the cash for a deep oil pan or I would. I believe the pump should be change if I pull the pan off.
