The new 426 HEMI not sure what I have Dick Landy built 1997
« on: November 14, 2009 - 10:20:40 AM »
I sold 2 Cuda's and in return I got a hemi .It's a Dick Landy motor built in 1997, never out of the box. The story is the motor was part of a magazine article Building the Elephant back in 97. It's a direct replacement for the original block. The story was this motor was going to be put in a 73 roadrunner , but was sold. I'm the third owner, it's going to be brought to life in my Red 71 cuda.  There are numbers on the stamp pad. What do I have?? :useless:

   This sounds interesting....
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

May be Super Stock and Drag Illustrated, although I think they disappeared right around then.

I used to work with a guy that collected old auto/truck repair manuals.  He paid hundreds apiece for some of them.  One day a guy comes in the shop, looks at the shelves full of manuals and proudly said he just tossed dozens apon dozens of them.  Pete showed him the price for one of them...the guy almost collapsed on the floor. I'm not kidding.  He must have tossed 10 grand worth of manuals.  My lesson learned:  with the internet, there may be someone out there that wants what your trying to get rid of.
