Even though it starts off saying 727 rebuild, I find out shortly that it's a 904.  I have most of the pictures saved on my HD if you need reference to any of them.....looks like most got deleted by accident.

Hey guys. Sorry to start posting on the old one but I didnt want to start up a new thread. lol. But anyway I tackled my transmission for the second time after driving it home with the same problem. This time I pulled my input shaft back out and checked both clutch packs. All the friction disks and clutches looked alright so I left them alone. But a friend at school told me that it is a good chance that it was the seals in the rear clutch pack and that if they were slightly worn at all it could cause my problem. So I replaced them. But I think I did it wrong because now the car only works in reverse. lol. So I think I put the seals in backwards and thats why I have no forward gears. So its all coming apart again and I'm taking a closer look at the book this time. I was just wondering if this could really be my fix to the original problem or if I should look elsewhere?

When you pulled the clutch pack to look at the clutches and steels, did you go one step farther and pull the piston out and check it's seals?  You were already there and just had to pull a couple more things off to get the piston out.

Also, you can pressurize the case holes with air pressure to hear the clutch packs compress before you put it back in the car.

Get a service manual. It is all in there.

I messed with that piston this time when I got into it again. I think those are the seals that I might have put in wrong... Ill Pressure check them before and after I pull them apart to see if it makes a difference. Service Manuel wise all I have a 727 book. I hope its similar enough to the 904 where everything should be the same.

The lip of the seals should point towards the bottom of the piston.

Flipped the Seal around and now everything works! Car moves forwards and Backwards! Still hasnt fixed my original problem though. I think I am just going to live with it till I get a 727 or do a 5.7 Swap. Thanks for all the Help and Pictures!
