1970 cuda quarter trim
« on: November 19, 2009 - 10:35:35 PM »
I am needing the hole locations for the door top trim for the quarter window area for my 70 cuda.  My doors already have the holes, but the quarter tops need the holes as well.

Thanks,

Daniel

Daniel,

Can you post a picture of your door tops?  I need both locations, door and quater windows.  Hole size and something showing the distance between holes would be great.  My car didn't come with this molding so I am starting from scatch.

Thanks.

I will try to get the pictures of the hole locations from the doors on Saturday.  We both will still need the quarter window hole locations.

Here are the door hole locations from front of the door to back of the door.  I also went off of the edge of the front top of the door at the form line.  Dimensions are in inches.

7/8
3 7/8
11 1/8
18 1/2
24 7/8
31 1/8
38
46

All holes are offset from the inside by 3/8".  If done correctly, the very last hole at the rear of the door should also be 3/8" form the end.  So it would be located 3/8 from end and 3/8 from inside edge of door.

Hope this helps...  Now, does anyone have the hole locations for the quarter windows for a 70 cuda?  I know the 70 cars are different from the 71 cars as well.  Please help...

Thanks,

here ya go. these ar original as i know. measurement from farthest forward corner on inside edge. going from left to right.
hole 1= 1 1/4"
hole 2= 2 1/4"
hole 3= 4 1/4"
hole 4= 9 1/4"

hole 1,2,4 all 3/8" from inner edge
hole 3 is 1/4" from inner edge
these are  somewhat rough measurements but cosidering there was up to a 1/8" diffrence on each side of the car i imagine it's not a huge deal.

I wonder why hole #3 is not in-line with the other 4 holes?  Also, is there a hole on the front of the door jamb?  I was thinking that the 70 only trim wrapped over the front.  Is this the case?

Thanks...

I wonder why hole #3 is not in-line with the other 4 holes?   I too wonder why this hole is different.... :clueless:

Also, is there a hole on the front of the door jamb?  Thta is correct, there is a mount hardware that goes there.  I can get a picture of the trim peice this weekend.  My trim came with these peices.
