499 6pk engine
« on: November 22, 2009 - 07:51:26 PM »
72 400 (230) block .030 over, 440 source crank, rods, pistons. I had it all balanced here in my town, lunati solid cam, 906 ported heads I got from Stroker 214/181, everything but the heads is new. Even the hemi oil pan.   The pistons are about 015 in the hole,   I decided I didnt want to install this in my m46 car, then take it back out. My 446 engine is running to good to remove

Pm me here    around 4k for the engine

Sure wish I had a stack of Benji's Alan, I would be on that thing in a hurry. It will not last long I predict.

Hey OldKimmer, Sounds like you are after the long engine without the intake maybe ?

What compression would you guess this build to be at Alan ?

A long block would have the heads cam and rockers complete. The rockers are 440 source 1.5 ratio. The cam is a voodo  lunati 60342  solid lift

566/586
.377 /.391 lobe lift
280/288 adv
251/259 @ 050
106/114 center line

I didnt calculate the compression, but here's some info

.039 head gaskets, around 84 cc heads-not sure, but milled, .015 in the hole pistons with -4 cc pistons, 4.15 stroke x 4.375 bore

11.07 to 1 with a .039/4.410 bore head gasket

Thanks Jason. I started to install the engine this afternoon and got a call from work. Gotta go to kentucky then texas after turkey, so it will set.   If someone wants it, it's ready to go tho.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I am selling below what it took to build it by quite a bit

Im going to take this out of the forsale area in one more week and just keep it.  Seems the market is down and no body needs it.  I thought it was a good price tho.

That is a great deal Al...   :2thumbs:  I know you are selling WAY below the build cost. If I needed it, I would snap it right up. Heck, for that price it would be a good engine to buy and sit back until a person decided to make the engine change. You can't even come close to building one for that......

God luck with the sale....

I decided not to sell the engine now. I have also started on building another 446 rb engine. I dont know why tho. After that engine I am building another rb 499. I have the blocks done now :2thumbs:

Maybe I should raffle them off :roflsmiley:
