Where can I purchase a choke block off plate
« on: November 23, 2009 - 11:34:32 PM »
I've been looking all over the Internet for a resource that provides block off plates (and gaskets) that will cover the choke hole on my Mopar P4452034 intake manifold (see picture below). Mancini says they don't have anything in their inventory -- that I'll have to fabricate something. Can anyone provide any insight -- does anyone have a plate that would work for this application or know where I can purchase one?

Well, it appears as though this choke seal is for dual plane intake manifolds only -- according to SUMMIT, they don't make one for single plane. Anyone else with any ideas? Do I have to fabricate a plate?

:clueless:  It kinda looks like a egr valve hole...But you could take a 3/16 plate and drill 2 holes in it, make a gasket and cover that, I do believe.

Don't like getting your hands dirty? :icon16:

20mins work with basic hand tools, a scrap bit of aluminium, and the buffing wheel on the bench grinder.

Very nice. My brother is in the process of doing this very same thing for me. He has the experience with stuff like this where I didn't. I thought it would be easiest to buy an existing plate if it existed, but apparently the best choice is to simply make my own. Thanks for sharing -- this helps reinforce my decision to go ahead and create a plate rather than keep looking for one that will fit my application.

If the hole you are covering does not lead anywhere (if it is just a well) then you don't need a gasket either. Should be easy to do.

That looks really nice. I never worried about mine, just never seemed to notice it much.

You can't even see mine any more. I mounted a MAP sensor on it for manifold vacuum measurement.
